The Barry Amateur Swimming Club held their annual Town Mayor's Cup Gala recently.
The event has seen a revival after years of hiatus due to Covid.
On March 17, the gala included two visiting teams - Rhondda Swimming Club and Cwmbran Swimming Club - along with the home team.
Although Barry trailed behind, their competing swimmers held their own, with some achieving personal bests.
Notably, young swimmers like Abby Coborn, Esme Bennett, and Amelie Briard competed in races beyond their age groups.
Remarkable efforts were witnessed from other competitors, including Isaac Biggs, Jackson Ridout, Jack Ide, Charlie Bowmer, and Alfie Sergeant.
The competition ended with Rhondda emerging as victors, scoring 278 points against Cwmbran's 247, with Barry in third.
The winning club was presented the cup by town mayor, Councillor Ian Johnson, and his consort, Councillor Millie Collins.
In addition, special thanks were expressed to all the participating officials, parents, and Nic Holmes who officiated as referee.
The club has shared anticipation for their next event, the Ray Sutton Cup, scheduled for October.
Additionally, the Cardiff Bay Swim Meet is set for July 6 at the International Pool in Cardiff.
