A new recycling service for businesses has been launched by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

This service was introduced to aid businesses with the new recycling regulations in Wales.

Beginning April 6, workplaces have to separate their waste for recycling, akin to current domestic practices.

The council's commercial waste service offers a low-cost, flexible, and sustainable approach for businesses.

It provides for three subscription options, designed to meet an array of business needs, with prices starting at £104 per annum.

Cllr Mark Wilson, cabinet member for neighbourhood services and transport said: "The new commercial recycling service is designed to make the transition to new Welsh Government commercial recycling regulations as easy as possible for businesses in the Vale."

He further noted the service provides "so much flexibility at a competitive price."

Additionally, Cllr Wilson highlighted the council's commitment to its Project Zero initiative, which targets the council becoming carbon neutral by 2030, stating: "The changes to regulations aim to increase recycling rates in workplaces, reducing carbon emissions, and building a greener Welsh economy."

Upon subscription to the service, the council will provide customers with a duty of care certificate at no extra cost.
