A Barry woman has achieved her dream of launching her own taxi business exclusively for pets.
Lisa Charles, a pet enthusiast launched a new business called Zoom-eze a taxi service for owners of pets who are unable to get a taxi with their pets.
The business is aimed at those who are unable to drive, housebound or work full-time to help escort pets to appointments, weddings, groomers and many more.
Ms Charles told the Barry and District News that her dream was to continue working with animals.
She said: “I am at this time in my life where I want to give something to the community and work with animals as they are my passion.
“That panic of when no taxi would take my dog despite it being clean and from that frustration, I saw a gap in the market for a new business.
“Animals are my passion, so it is like a home from home for me. I help the community by picking up their pets and taking them to the vets or the groomers and I enjoy it.”
Zoom-eze has a vehicle with a regular back seat and cages for the boot, it’s service is for dogs, cats and rabbits.
Ms Charles has had eight bookings since launching the business last month, and with high demand has expanded its services to Cardiff.
After launching the business with a bursary from the Vale of Glamorgan it has been warmly received by locals in Barry.
She added: “People have been supportive and I have had a positive response and I am very excited going forward.
“I went to the deli the other day and they came out and said ‘Look at pet taxi’ and thought it was a joke, but once I explained to them it was a real pet taxi they said it was amazing and asked for a flyer.
“My daughter thought I was bonkers and didn’t get the pet taxi idea, but when I had my first booking, she was so excited.
"It’s the best thing I have ever done, it's fulfilling to be able to help people and their pets.”
