A FAMILY business is re-opening in Barry next month after closing its Penarth store last month.

Funky Monkey in Penarth closed its doors on Wednesday, February 28 after their closing down sale ended.

The shop that sold kids clothing, toys and gifts will re-open on the Barry High Street in April.

In a statement on their Facebook page, Funky Monkey announced on Friday, March 15 that they are re-opening on the High Street in April.

The popular store, located on Windsor Road opened in 2015 replacing Butter Me Up Bakery. 

Funky Monkey became a popular addition to Penarth Town Centre in the nine years it occupied its store at 11, Windsor Road. 

They say they are passionate about delivering the highest customer service and beautiful high-quality products.

Their new store will open 6.3 miles away from its old store in Penarth. 

Funky Monkey will replace White Lies Aesthetics and Beauty at 15 Holton Road. 

Their statement continued: "We have a new home! Nestled in the heart of the wonderful High Street shopping Quarter in Barry.

"Funky Monkey will re-open at 15 High Street, Barry in April we're so excited to get started.

"We're so pleased that so many of you will be joining us on our adventure to Barry High Street.

"We're are going to have a short rest and aim to re-open Funky Monkey in April."

Funky Monkey thanked the people of Penarth for their support during the nine years they spent at the store. 

It continued: "Thank you to the wonderful customers and friends we have made along the way.

"Whether you’ve shopped with us, visited our Christmas Grotto or simply popped in for a chat, we’ve loved meeting you and are so grateful for your support.

“Lots of love and thanks for your support, Justin, Rebecca and the girls.”
