The mayor of Barry is hosting a spring market later this month.

Councillor Ian Johnson, the Mayor of Barry's annual Mayor's Spring Market will take place on March 30, between 10am and 2pm at the Cemetery Approach Community Centre.

The free-to-attend market will feature local arts and crafts makers and provides an opportunity to shop for handmade gifts.

Barry Town Council and Tiny Toes will be running Easter-themed activities.

Refreshments will also be available, with proceeds supporting the Mayor's chosen charities, 2Wish and Mind in the Vale.

The latter is an independent mental health charity that equips people with information to make informed decisions concerning mental health matters, whilst 2Wish supports those affected by the sudden and traumatic loss of a child or young adult aged 25 or under throughout Wales.

Following the market, Councillor Johnson will mark the conclusion of his mayoral year with a 'Twmpath', a Welsh-themed event.

Set to take place on April 6, at the Barry Town Football Club's Jenner Suite, the event will feature a performance by Cats Claw.

Tickets can be obtained from the Barry Town Council website.
