A MAN from Barry was given a four-year driving ban for driving on drugs.
James Harvey, of the town’s Court Road was caught in Cardiff’s Ely area in the early hours of December 16.
He was described as driving a high-powered BMW 7 series at speed and was spotted by local traffic police.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit stopped the car and Harvey, 33, tested positive at the roadside for cannabis.
He then failed to provide an evidential specimen of blood at custody.
Harvey was charged with failing to provide a specimen. He entered a not guilty plea at Cardiff Magistrates on January 4.
On Tuesday, March 5, Harvey, appeared at the court where he was found guilty and disqualified from driving for four years.
He was also fined £660.

On the conviction, Inspector Michael Prickett of the Roads Policing Unit said there was no excuse for what Harvey did.
“There is no excuse for getting behind the wheel of a car when you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
“We are out there, and we will catch you and put you before the courts to face justice.”
Harvey will also pay costs of £500 and a surcharge of £264.
