A BARRY business has been recognised as one of the best takeaways in Wales - for the third year in a row.

Royal Balti is an Indian takeaway based on Vere Street in Barry which has won an award for being one of the best Indian takeaway establishments in South Wales at the Good Food Awards for the third time in a row.

The multi-award-winning takeaway also won awards at the Food Award Wales 2023, Nations Curry Awards 2023, and Award-winning Food – Certified Premises 2023.

Owners Muhammad Ahmed and Niaz Haidari said: “Our team are always taking pride and care in the quality of food we serve and providing the best possible customer service.

“We can rate our takeaway as being a multi-award-winning Indian takeaway as well as being a five-star hygiene rated.

“Our goal is to champion and support local, independent eateries that craft delicious food. We firmly believe that businesses like yours are the backbone of our communities and deserve recognition for their hard work and commitment.”

Royal Balti has built up a reputation for shining a spotlight on delicious dishes and unearthing culinary gems.

Food venues were awarded based on three factors:

  • Customer feedback and votes;
  • Online reviews that reflect the opinions of actual diners;
  • Businesses that excel in food quality, service, and value.

The venue was awarded with a five-star hygiene rating on June 14, 2023, and received a glowing five-star review from a local customer on Trip Advisor last month.

They wrote: “I order from here regularly. And each time the food is piping hot and delicious. My stupid husband forced me to order from a different place the other week and it was foul.

“I will never cheat on Royal Balti ever again! Best food service ever! Thank you, Royal Balti.”
