A VALE teacher gave an emotional tribute to her students after A-Level results.
On Thursday, August 17, the wait was over for students across the country – and the wait will soon be over for GCSEs, which come next week, August 24.
Alexandra Williams, head of performing arts at Pencoedtre High School, was in New Orleans when her students opened their results, but despite this, she insisted they were celebrated.
“It has been a tough year for some of these pupils, but I am so proud of their remarkable ability to overcome challenging situations while continuing to produce exceptional work.
“These resilient individuals have faced difficult times, yet their unwavering determination and commitment to their craft have allowed them to produce work of the highest quality.”

Another record year of A-level and BTEC success at Cardiff and Vale College
Cardiff and Vale College was celebrating another record year of success, with more students than ever achieving AS, A Level and BTEC qualifications.
Nearly 600 learners sat their A2 qualifications and more than 900 learners studied AS and A Levels across 40 different subjects, from Classical Civilisation to Dance.
The College also celebrated the achievements of its BTEC learners, with 800 learners receiving the results of their BTEC qualifications at Level 3, equivalent to A Level, either as standalone qualifications or alongside A Levels.
Among the achievers was Kallie Chappell, who, after gaining and A* in extended project qualification, as in maths and physics and b in classical civilisations, is off to study theoretical physics at the University of Bristol, while Karim Champenois gained a triple distinction in BTEC IT and computing and is progressing to do a degree apprenticeship with Bentley Motors.
CAVC Principal Sharon James said: “It is always a real pleasure to celebrate our learners on A Level and BTEC Results Day as these young people embark upon the next chapter of their lives. Well done everyone!
